Analyzing population dynamics in the past.

This section includes collaborative projects completed between 2007 and 2017, primarily while I was a Research Area Specialist at the University of Michigan’s Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research. It includes work on the history of migration from Mexico to the United States co-authored with Brian Gratton of Arizona State University; work on indigenous surnames in colonial Mexico co-authored with Joel Thurtell of the Detroit Free Press; and methodological contributions to historical demography co-authored with Myron P. Gutmann of the University of Colorado and with Susan Hautaniemi Leonard and George Alter of the University of Michigan.
